I got in a car accident my school parking lot and the officer said there is nothing I can do. Is it true?
I was backing my pontiac sunfire 2000 out of my space in the school parking lot. I was almost all of the way out when another SUV began backing out. I saw it but didnt react in time and was hit in the backside corner of my car. The school resource officer said it looked like it was the other drivers fault but said that I cant do anything about it because it was on private property. She said what usually happens in a dispute like this is both parties pay for their own vehicle. I've never been in an accident before so I dont know what to do. Is the school resource officer wrong? If it helps, the driver of the SUV didnt have her insurance info.
