Do gay guys miss out on relationship lessons?

Ok, perhaps a little controversial, but I'm disappointed, not hateful. As a gay guy myself, and being young - I'm in college, I'm pretty disappointed with most gay guys attitude to relationships. I'm as -happy as the next person, but all the gay clubs and gay websites I see here - in Ireland - is just for . I'm convinced that's a mistake. I think the promiscuous type is the opposite to the settle-down type, and I'm the latter. I just see too many gay guys sticking it around and they're not gaining relationship skills like their straight counterparts. So I see plenty of older gay guys who seem to have woken up much older, and realized they've wasted their lives on messing about. And there's plenty of evidence suggesting a promiscuous youth leads to drastic relationship problems later. What's the international perspective? Can every commenter mention their country, so I get an idea of how it works in different places? My sister's convinced I'll marry an American or Canadian, and frankly, that seems very appealing to me. Foreign gay guys frequently tell me gay relationship are rare here. I'm 21 in Europe, Ireland.
